The Foundation Alumni Resource Group (FARG) is a task of Rotary world.

There are alumni leaders composed of general coordinators, assistant general coordinators, area coordinators in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific RIM, Great Britain and Ireland, Continental Europe, the Mediterranean, and Africa, South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Antilles, United States and Canada.

The overall goal of the Foundation Alumni Resource Group is to encourage Rotary clubs and districts to involve Foundation alumni in Rotary activities; to urge clubs to consider alumni as potential members of Rotary and as potential contributors to The Rotary Foundation; and to use alumni as effective advocates for the programs of The Rotary Foundation.

The district subcommittees are asked to support and encourage to work in cooperation with The Rotary Foundation Alumni Section to maintain an accurate and complete current list of all alumni within the district and to utilize it locally in appropriate ways. They can also:

Help the district organize orientation seminars for ambassadorial scholars or Group Study Exchange team members and encourage the use of the alumni as mentors for new Foundation program participants.
Work with the appropriate regional Rotary Foundation coordinator on alumni and orientation matters;
Help the district organize specific alumni events such as (but not limited to) community or international service projects or social events to bring the district alumni together;
Assist in the creation of the district alumni association, and
Encourage an annual meeting of a district alumni association;
Integrate alumni association activities with local Rotary activity;
Encourage the use of the Internet and/or other electronic communications to facilitate alumni activities;
Promote appropriate alumni for Rotary club membership;
Encourage alumni to contribute financially to The Rotary Foundation;
Promote and encourage the district to maintain a speakers' bureau and to identify distinguished alumni to enable the district to invite them as speakers for district/club events, especially in the month of November, Foundation month;

ALUMNI RELATIONS

Who are Foundation Alumni?
Anyone who receives a Rotary Foundation grant or scholarship award is an alumnus of a Foundation program, Ambassadorial scholars, recipients of Grants for University Teacher or Carl Miller Discovery Grants, Group Study Exchange team members, and Rotary Volunteers are all Rotary Foundation Alumnus.

What programs and activities are available to the alumni?
The alumni currently receive REConnections, a twice-annual newsletters, in late-autumn and again in the spring. REConnections details news of alumni activities and the accomplishments of individual alumni as well as news of the Rotary World.

What is Alumni Relations?
Alumni Relations is a program within the Foundation that aims to cultivate the continued participation of alumni.

The goals of the Alumni Relations program include the following:

To build life-long ties between Foundation program participants and Rotary
To increase interest in Rotary membership
To provide the alumni a way to give back to Rotary through service and financial support.

Rotarians know there are many successful ways Foundation programs alumni can stay involved:

Act as advocates for Foundation programs
Recruit program participants
Participate in inbound and outbound orientations
Act as advisors to district selection committees
Speak at club, district and other meetings
Act as members to current program participants and Interact and Rotaract members
Participate in service projects, including Rotary Volunteers
Host exchange program participants
Give to The Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund or Permanent Fund.
